Finance Internship Experience at Gardenia Philippines

 

My experience as a Financial Risks and Solutions Intern at Gardenia Bakeries Company was priceless and improved my knowledge of risk mitigation and financial management. I obtained practical experience in recognizing and controlling financial risks when I worked for the organization. During my time at the company, I gained hands-on experience in identifying and managing financial risks. I also gained practical experience in a professional setting by applying academic knowledge to real-world problems.

My internship involved significant collaboration with front-liners and staff, allowing me to develop strong communication and problem-solving skills. In addition, I learned about financial analysis tools, software (such as Excel and sales systems), and financial models used to quantify and mitigate risk, which enhanced my technical and analytical skills. 

Common challenges include adjusting to workplace culture, managing time effectively, and communicating with the staff and other employees. However, I would say that they were all friendly and polite. Overcoming these problems helps me boost my confidence, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. By the end of the internship, I believe I have a clearer career path, a better professional network, and new talents that will set me apart in my sector. I would also like to thank the FRS Department for preparing and shaping me for the next chapter of my professional career.
